Why a man raised on a construction crew chose fence
Most fence companies start with a truck and an ad. Solid Rock Fencing started with a question: why does so much fence work look rushed? The owner was raised Amish. He finished school after eighth grade and went to work.
His father ran a construction crew, and the expected path was to build houses. He chose a different trade. Fencing is honest work with clear standards: a line is straight or it is not, a gate closes or it drags, a corner post holds or it leans.
He decided the quality Amish builders are known for in barns, furniture and homes could be brought to fence and gate work. That is the reason Solid Rock Fencing exists.
The owner grew up in an Amish family and community, where doing a job properly is part of how work is judged.
Like most Amish boys, he finished school after eighth grade and went to work.
His father ran a construction crew. Building houses was the path in front of him, and he saw how much goes into getting a build right.
He did not want to build houses. He wanted something different, and fencing was it: work that is outdoors, practical and easy to do badly.
His goal was to bring the quality the Amish are known for to fence and gate work, so a fence is built the way a good barn is built.
